Publisher's summary

Nationally syndicated radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has long wanted to make history come to life for the children of his listeners. In this book, he travels back in time with fearless history teacher Rush Revere. With the help of his faithful talking horse, Liberty, Rush experiences American history as it happens, having adventure after adventure with exceptional Americans such as Paul Revere and George Washington. Rush is transported back to the deck of the Mayflower as it makes its momentous voyage across the oceans to land at Plymouth Rock.

Rush finds out quickly, though, that there's nothing so momentous about seasickness! Soon he is caught up in the early moments of our nation as the Pilgrims struggle to make a home for themselves in this new world. He continues to travel back and forth in time to better illuminate for his students the real-life aspects of this historic times. Ending with the first Thanksgiving, this book captures the bravery of the first settlers.

Good Listen, Entertaining and Informative

The idea of this book was very creative. Rush is a decent narrator. You are entertained and informed all at the same time. Enjoyed listening with my 12 year old son. He was impressed. Recommend

Entertaining, Engaging, and Educational

Mr. Limbaugh tells a good story in a fun way so that you don't even realize that you're learning history. I enjoyed it and so did my kids aged 6-16. I look forward to the next one.

Little historical content- annoying narrator

As a homeschooling mom I love when history comes alive for my kids but this book missed the mark. There was a lot of “meaningless fluff” and the narrator (author) was awful. He used the same ”voice” for all characters with no voice inflection so it was hard to know who was talking and what they were feeling. It just felt like he was near-yelling through the whole thing. We got halfway and gave up.

Surprisingly good!

Even though I find Rush Limbaugh awfully funny and very smart, I really didn't think a children's book that he would write would be that good. But it was entertaining and he seems to understand how kids see things. It's a really inviting way to cover history for sure. I'm Canadian and not a kid, so I didn't actually finish it, but I enjoyed what I listened to more than I thought I would. I can't remember why I bought it, but perhaps just to see what it was like. He says the target audience is around 10 years old and that seems about right. Apparently the talking horse is getting fan mail!

Great Job Rush Revere and Liberty!!!!!!

Where does Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

About the middle.

What other book might you compare Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims to and why?

Nothing to compare it to as it's one of a kind!

What does Rush Limbaugh bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Rush brought the story and produced it and narrated it. With El Rushbo at the helm it had to be great, positive and a proud testimony for the America Way!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Go Liberty Go!!!

Hamilton Fans will Love

In this introductory book by Rush Limbaugh, you learn about the Pilgrimage of the future Amaricans.
This book connects well with both children and adults alike, using relatable subjects from the twentieth century to relate to significant moments in American history, even in 2021.
Fans of the American Musical: Hamilton will not only enjoy this book, but all of the books in the 'Rush Revere' series. People can connect moments in their favorite musical to a (about) 13-year-old book.
To be fair, the last time I listened to this audiobook was in 2013, but as I browsed my library here on Audible and found this book, I was honestly very excited.
Trust me, this book is great.
Recommend for all ages, especially Middle School students!

Not Great

I was really hoping this would be a good book I could use as a read aloud for my 5th grade class for social studies- as kids remember stories far better than facts and figures. Unfortunately, it was really quite terrible. Initially I thought it was really just Rush doing a terrible job at narrating (it would be slightly better if someone else narrated that could actually differentiate voices), but really the story was sub par. It felt like he was trying to make things fit to teach kids facts. Nothing really flowed in the story.
