The BFG is no ordinary bone-crunching giant. He is far too nice and jumbly. It's lucky for Sophie that he is. Had she been carried off in the middle of the night by the Bloodbottler, or any of the other giants - rather than the BFG - she would have soon become breakfast. More Scary & Violent Than "Heartwarming Adventure"
- By Bookworm on 10-19-21
By: J.K. Rowling
Publisher's summary
The fifth screamingly funny novel from David Walliams, number one bestseller and fastest growing children’s author in the country.
Hot on the heels of bestselling Gangsta Granny comes another hilarious, action-packed and touching novel – the story of a little girl called Zoe. Things are not looking good for Zoe. Her stepmother Sheila is so lazy she gets Zoe to pick her nose for her. The school bully Tina Trotts makes her life a misery – mainly by flobbing on her head. And now the evil Burt from Burt’s Burgers is after her pet rat! And guess what he wants to do with it? The clue is in the title…
From the author that is being called ‘a new Roald Dahl’, Ratburger is not to be missed!

The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Joe has a lot of reasons to be happy. About a billion of them, in fact. You see, Joe's rich. Really, really rich. Joe's got his own bowling alley, his own cinema, even his own butler who is also an orangutan. He's the wealthiest 12-year-old in the land. But Joe isn't happy. Why not? Because he's got a billion pounds...and not a single friend. But then someone comes along, someone who likes Joe for Joe, not for his money. The problem is, Joe's about to learn that when money is involved, nothing is what it seems.

Mr Stink stank. He also stunk. And if it was correct English to say he stinked, then he stinked as well.... Chloe sees Mr Stink every day, but she’s never spoken to him - which isn’t surprising, because he’s a tramp and he stinks. But there’s more to Mr Stink than meets the eye (or nose), and before she knows it, Chloe has an unusual new friend hiding in her garden shed.

Sad!!
This book was very good. My kids and I enjoy David Williams books, and have since we read Mr. Stink. He has a way of making the books very relatable, even when they are outlandish. This book though, was very sad. It should have definitely had a warning on it. I caught myself and the kids tearing up and various parts. In the end, the book had a very good story with an upbeat ending. I would definitely recommend this book, but be forewarned that there might be some tears popping up.
