The fifth screamingly funny novel from David Walliams, number one best seller and fastest growing children’s author in the country. Hot on the heels of best-selling Gangsta Granny comes another hilarious, action-packed and touching novel - the story of a little girl called Zoe.
Things are not looking good for Zoe. Her stepmother Sheila is so lazy she gets Zoe to pick her nose for her. The school bully Tina Trotts makes her life a misery - mainly by flobbing on her head. And now the evil Burt from Burt’s Burgers is after her pet rat! And guess what he wants to do with it? The clue is in the title....
From the author that is being called ‘a new Roald Dahl’, Ratburger is not to be missed!

"I absolutely love David Walliams's books. In a few more years they will become classics." (Sue Townsend, author of Adrian Mole)
This book was very good. My kids and I enjoy David Williams books, and have since we read Mr. Stink. He has a way of making the books very relatable, even when they are outlandish. This book though, was very sad. It should have definitely had a warning on it. I caught myself and the kids tearing up and various parts. In the end, the book had a very good story with an upbeat ending. I would definitely recommend this book, but be forewarned that there might be some tears popping up.
I listened to this weigh my daughters (how are 6 and 8) whilst on holiday this summer. This is when of the funniest books we have listened too and a up there with other David Walliams books.
This book is very like some of the Roald Dahl books, and just as good as the others from the Wailliams, although not quite as funny as Gansta Granny!
David Walliams is a great with the voices, you forget that it is him reading as he really does 'becomes' the character.
It really maid us all laugh, and there was also som emotion parts to the story too.
David Walliams is just the best narrator ever ! Enjoyed the title 100% and will never tire of listening to titles narrated by him.
I listened to this with my 3 little terrors (12, 10 & 9) on a long car journey. For once they were angels, quiet except for raucous laughter at the frequent gross out humour. Hilariously horrible characters surround a typically Walliams central character, who, like the best in childrens' fiction is the most adult of all. The plot has enough surprises for listeners of all ages, and Walliams' narration is, as ever, deliciously charming, bringing every character to life in spectacular fashion. We can't wait for this to be filmed, especially the ending!
"Peace and quiet!"
Our three boys thoroughly enjoyed listening to this in the car over a long journey. Much better than the usual bickering! Shall be downloading more! Thanks Audible.co.uk.
This book is hilarious , David walliams really makes the characters come to life !
Me and my two daughters love to listen to it ! But be warned it can be gruesome at the end . I recommend it .
"9 year old son's review of Favourite book"
Ratburger is the best book I have ever listened to.
Ratburger can a bit heartbreaking in some parts, as exampled when Ginger Nut (pet hamster) dies. The way some of it is put together is just phenomenal but also incredibly hilarious. Mr Grave is one of the teachers at Zoe’s school and he is a bit bonkers, there are lots of funny parts in this book. In the story there are two uses of bad language not to be said but it didn’t matter. Review by Oliver aged 9
"Fabulous!!, forget it is for children!"
Really enjoyed this, only listened to it as I had downloaded one for my grandchildren and I think I enjoyed it as much as she did!
