Mankind puts its faith in many things - gods, kings, money - anything for protection from the worlds many dangers. When a cult springs up in neighboring Clonmel, promising to quell the recent attacks by lawless marauders, people flock from all over to offer gold in exchange for protection. But this particular group, with which Halt is all too familiar, has a less than charitable agenda. Secrets will be unveiled and battles fought to the death as Will and Horace help Halt in ridding the land of a dangerous enemy.
The worldwide phenomenon is back with a gripping new adventure. Yet for these Rangers, the peril is only beginning....

Like the other books where the story was divided between 2 books, this one too is little lighter and hoping the 2nd part (book 9) is with all the heart racing chapters.
Good Story Interesting
Will, he is an all-around good guy.
I do audible books because it allows me to do other work while still enjoying a good story. A good reader can make or break a book and so far I have not been disappointed with but one of the readers out of all the audible books I have.
A different world
I am an old lady that likes these books for the teens and young. The stories are interesting and the characters all brought forth in such interesting ways. I like these just as much as I do Tom Clancy's books. The are great. Interesting good stories and you don't have all the sex and vulgar language that some writers seem to need. That's because they can't come up with enough imagination to write without all of that. I am 75 years old and I find these books for the younger generation as good if not better than all the mysteries I have read in the last 60 years.
The Ranger's Apprentice series is only the second book series I have ever reread. I'm doing that now, and enjoying them as much, if not more, than the first time. Flanagan is a great writing talent.
I love this series, author, and narrator! Very fitting for this adventurous book. Wonderful for long car rides and times when you work with your hands in silence (like sewing).
Very well done and interesting to listen to. The narrator is one of my favorites. I would recommend this book for young adults and adults who like a good story.
