A horrifying creature has landed on the shores of Mossflower country: Gulo the Savage, a wolverine who is known to devour his enemies' flesh. Gulo intends to kill his brother and seize a mighty relic known as the Walking Stone. But standing in Gulo's way is Redwall Abbey and a mercenary squirrel named Rakkety Tam MacBurl. Soon, the Mossflower woods are ringing with the glorious sound of battlecries, as an epic battle that tests the bonds of comradeship begins.
Thanks to the extraordinary vocal talents of a full cast of accomplished performers, joined by the author himself, each wondrous character is fully brought to life, and Rakkety Tam becomes a riveting listening experience that is not easily forgotten.
Don't miss any of Brian Jacques' Redwall series.

"The colorful writing style, the strong cast of characters, and twisting plot will continue to delight fans of the series." (School Library Journal)
It took me a bit to get used to the harsh accents that the many different readers "actors" give to the charactors of the book. Soon I found I counted on them to help distinguish the different charactors as there are many. Before long I was captivated by the story which was well worth the purchase. One of those books you would not mind finding it is one of several in a series as you didn't want to let go of the charactors in the story.
I am a 5th grade teacher and have never been disappointed by a Brian Jacques work. Whether it's a book in the wonderful Redwall family or one of his unrelated works like Castaways of the Flying Dutchman; Jacques remains a masterful storyteller. I agree with other reviewers that it takes a chapter or two to "tune" your ears to the accents of the wide variety of creatures and characters, but once that is done you're in for a fantastic, morally sound tale suitable for children from 9-99. Enjoy!!
This is a wild one! A few new creatures added to Mossflower country including the dangerous Gulo the Savage and his band of white foxes and ermine from the lands of snow and ice. This novel is packed full of adventure and murder, comrades and mystery. Easily one of the best tales from the abbey ever told. Though, there are many tales from Redwall. Mayhap you will venture in to hear them? With wonderful food and great company by the fire in Cavern hole who could ask for more? The gates are always open to good beasts at Redwall abbey. Come and stay as long as you like.

I wanted to be a Scottish Warrior so bad I bought a Dirk and sing dubh and I enjoyed Sgt One will very much. One of my Redwall faves. Tavish MacTavish or Tim Thompson depending on if I have the Dirk.
I've listened to around two to five audio books a week and Rakkety Tam is in my top three
Rakkety Tam hes a classic hero
I wish all books were done by the author and a full cast theres nothing quite like it
there are several but a don't want to ruin the book you will just have to listen
Brian Jacques is one of the best author. he writes amazing characters and deep engrossing stores and Rakkety Tam is my favorite of all his books.
Man, this is one of the greatest books by Brian J., and it should defiantly be within anybodies library. Its funny, adventurous, imaginative and downright original. With most books and book series, you get some of the same characters that start to bore you after some time, but with this series, you'll always hear about something different.
The way this has stood out, would have to be the Highland and Border squirrels. Man, I love those accents! They're amazing and i found myself trying to make an Irish accent myself.
Highly recommended to people who would like to have something original that's never the same when you listen to the others!
