Pongwiffy is a very smelly witch of very dirty habits. But she is a happy witch - until the day the gruesome gang of goblins move in next door and make her life miserable. So she goes to live with her not-so-best friend, Sharkadder, who tries to find her a new slum and a much-needed familiar. All they can come up with is a hamster from Amsterdam called Hugo. What an embarrassment! But Hugo is really an amazing hamster with hidden strengths...

I cannot think of a better narrator than Prunella Scales! When so many good audiobooks are let down by the narrator this story is more beautifully enhanced!
I loved the book as a child and as an adult I get to relive it all over again with glee.
"Just as good as I remembered"
Short but wonderfully nostalgic.
Grand Witch Sour Muddle is beautifully narrated and is such a sympathetic character. However Hugo makes me cackle with laughter every time I listen!
I laughed out loud at this book. I would recommend it to any child who likes slightly icky and very funny books and to any adult who enjoys the good vocabulary and story telling.
I had the whole series of these on tape as a child. I rediscovered them a few days ago and was delighted that Audible had the same version, read by Prunella Scales. They are just as funny, fun and imaginative as I remembered and so beautifully read!
