"Astrid Lindgren has created a unique and lovable character, inspiring generations of children to want to be Pippi...Simply put, Pippi is irresistible." (Amazon.com)
It's hard to find good audiobooks for kids 5-7 years old. Picture books don't work on audio, and most chapter books are still a little hard for them to follow. Pippi Longstocking was already a decades-old book when I read it as a child in the mid 1970's, but my six-year-old son seems to like it just fine. We listened to it in the car on a long family trip, and we all enjoyed it. Pippi's wacky adventures, super strength, defiance of social norms (she doesn't go to school!) and good heart (she protects the weak kids from the bullies) apparently have timeless appeal.
Absolutely. My girls fell in love with Pippi after listening to the story. They have gone to the library and checked out more Pippi books.
Since the Pippi books are limited, we may listen to another Trixie Beldon book.
Known for her bright red pigtails and her super human strenth, Pippi Longstocking is a beloved classic book enjoyed by children and adults alike. You won't believe what she does in her adventures
I especially liked the way Esther Benson narrated the story with giggles,. coughing, and other things used in the dialogue. The Listening Library version of Pippi Longstocking is a must-have for literature lovers.

Just a fun story and a fun listen. I was a little disappointed with the reader I picked guess she just wasn't as good as my 5th grade teacher that read it to the class oh so many years ago. The story was great and took me back ;)
My 6 year old loves this book and always chooses to listen to it when it is her turn to pick.
She loves listening to the naughty antics of Pippi Longstocking.
All my girls laugh when they hear this story.
I really like the narrator on this version of Pippi. I also love the fun stories. My children adore them, too.
When she makes 500 cookies and Pippi the Thing Finder.
Pippi, of course.
It was a really fun story, with a few serious moments, like the party. Made me remember being a child who didn't fit in.
The interesting story line.
Pippi of course! She never gets in trouble.
Easy to understand.
Here comes trouble
I bought this for my girls to listen to on our road trip from Houston to Dallas. They injoyed it so much they listened to it again on the way home.
