I'm a mom. I have drama in my life. I don't want books with the F-bomb, nor graphic violence. I read for fun and to bring my family together. I read for reducing stress levels. We have never had a television in our home and our children are now mid twenties to 19. We listen together and look for belly-wrenching laughter. So what is it like to live without a TV? Awesomely educational and inspirational. Each new book is a marvel.

    "Total silliness"
Would you listen to ParaNorman again? Why?

Very much like the movie. This film was cute and just a couple of hours of entertainment without having to think much.

The book is nearly identical to the movie. Nearly. The movie has visual to keep you drawn in and connected. The book varies a bit from the movie but it would be something most will need to compare side by side. I thought the characters were cute and described completely. I think I would have rather listened to the book instead of seeing the film. However, both are cute. This is mostly a 'check your brain at the door and relax for some silliness' type of entertainment. Don't expect to learn anything. :-)

What does Robert Petkoff bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narration was very good. I can't think of another reader that would have been better.

    Any additional comments?

This book ended and I felt sorry for Norman because he no longer had 'alone' time. I don't remember this feeling from the film.

The total value in this book is just to relax and giggle for a few hours.
