Great story

It's great for kids and Young adults. My daughter really loves this book.

Nostalgia

Loved this book as a kid so I had to go back and read it again...I still love it

Entirely unbelievable world

Its a bit confusing here. how is it that everyone at the school seems to know the endowed exist, while people outside the school "wont believe x happened."
Imagine if Harry potter was set mixed in a normal private school, voldemort was the principal and malfoy was his son. However muggles still have no idea magic exists but also they dont act all that surprised. Theres so much that you have to ignore for things to make sense here, and not much makes up for it.
Theres the mystery of his father, which if you have payed attention at all, you solved in halfway through this book. Spoiler alert, nothing happens with it in this book. Its so hamfistedly forshadowed.

Oh the nostalgia! Harry Potter meets A Series of Unfortunate Events.

I remembered this series the other day and immediately looked it up on Audible. It’s been a joy to listen to again. The narrator’s voice is soothing and hypnotic. The story is interesting, charming, with a good balance of humor and seriousness, and is delightfully dark. I’m looking forward to reliving the rest of the series!

The Children of the Red King #1

I hope that audible takes a notion to tell us the order of these books, and to link them together. Just so you know, this is book #1 and a great begining to this authorverse.

This book is amazing

I love the fact that the main character starts out not knowing how his powers work.

Great series

I loved this. I like these kinds of series and this is the start of a great one. Simon Russell Beale is a fantastic actor and thus a superb narrator. I can’t recommend this series highly enough.

Though this was more of of a childrens book, as an adult, I totally enjoyed it also. I hope that there will be more books with Charlie Bone in the future.
