Publisher's summary

Another timeless story about Mary Poppins, the world's most exciting nanny, and her magical adventures with the Banks family.

From the moment Mary Poppins arrives at Number Seventeen Cherry-Tree Lane, everyday life at the Banks house is forever changed. Jane, Michael, and the twins have never had such a wonderful nanny, who brings enchantment and excitement everywhere she goes.

In Mary Poppins Opens the Door, Mary Poppins reappears just in time! According to her tape measure, Jane and Michael have grown "Worse and Worse" since she went away. But the children won't have time to be naughty with all that Mary has planned for them. A visit to Mr. Twigley's music box – filled attic, an encounter with the Marble Boy, and a ride on Miss Calico's enchanted candy canes are all part of an average day out with everyone's favorite nanny.

Another fun Series of stories

We love Mary Poppins stories, but not Mary Poppins. She seems a little without heart. Delightful fun stories, though and the children learn so much and expand their imaginations.

Imagination at its Best!

Just finishing the third book of Mary Poppins leaves me wanting to start the fourth right away! The characters and settings are artfully described. I only wish a grownup could have read these books to me as a child when the imagination is ripe! KJSPettit

Best ever to me

I like Mary Poppins spit spot I mostly like her because she’s so neat and tidy Mimi it’s because I’m not so neat and tidy but I also like her because she takes care of children very very neatly I suggest this book to everybody do you know if you like being neat so make sure you’re ready for a little surprises and I like everything about it

Good book, but...

This book was interesting. I don't like the way the narrator talks. In my opinion, her voice is very gritty sounding. It makes it sound like she's blaming everything on the children. I also don't like how Mary Poppins says the crazy things that happened didn't happen. Like how she fell out of the sky, and then later told the children that that was obviously something that would never happen to her. She actually was kind of mean about it. Mary Poppins also was very vain, cruel, prideful, and more! Not at all how you would expect a children's nanny to be. I definitely prefer the first two books to this one. Sophie Thompson, who was the narrator of the first two books is so much better than this narrator.
