For my boys, age 6 and 7, they love these audiobooks. I like the idea that it is the author narrating these stories too.
She does Annie in a way that makes my boys laugh.
Will do anything for books!
Kids are ENGROSED!!
I love the historic adventures. They allow the children to be entertained and learn at the same time.
Great dramatic reading, we listen in the car, our little one loves them too and she isn't yet ready to read.
My kids (ages 12, 9, 6, 4) love to listen to Magic Tree House books, I just can't always find the time to read to them as much as they'd like, so these audio cd's are perfect for us! Not only are the stories fun and entertaining to listen too, but the author also throws in facts about science and history that can either introduction kids to these topics, or reinforce previous learning. My only complaint is when I went to burn a cd, the cd will not play from the beginning. I have to start it at '2', then rewind to almost the beginning of '1' on the cd in order for it to play. It is fine when put on an mp3 player though.
The stories include science, history and adventure. This is the good English text book for lovers of science.
The stories are quite imaginative and perfect for my 6 year old son. He's already read Book #1 and he's asked if we can get all of them. It's the first chapter book he's read. We listen to them all the time in the car.
These audio books are a great introduction for kids to use their own imagination to create the scenes. I would definitely recommend them to any parents with young kids. Listening to audio books in the car is much better than watching a DVD. The audio book version has gotten my son excited about reading. And he's into reading these books, even though he's listened to the audio book version many many times.
The audio books get much much more mileage than the print version. What I like is that they still allow the listener to use their imagination. What I like is hearing the reader change their voice to suit the character. And if the author reads it, I get to hear how she intended for us to hear it. She's able to express the personality of the character she created. I do the exact same thing when I read to my son. And the audio book version sounds like a totally different story than when I read the book version.
I love them. And the pages never go yellow on an audio book.

how can I submit ideas for future magic tree house books to the author?
I love how the characters go back in time and experience what happened in history. What I really like in this group of stories was Teddy. A little scruffy puppy, who accompanied Jack and Annie on their fun and sometimes life threatening adventures. All the stories really held my attention. One of the stories I like the most was the Civil War story when they went to the Civil War times and found someone who was actually from their family. I'm not telling who so I don't spoil the story. If this is your first time trying audio books, this is definitely the book for you and your kids.
No other book I can compare with.
Yes, I have listened to other audio books by her. My family has always enjoyed listening to them. My mom was surprised as to how good the stories are.

This is one of the best values in kids' books: you get eight books. This was my 6-year-old son's first exposure to the Magic Treehouse series, and he loves listening to this collection.
This is a wonderful, imaginative series that my 6-year old just loves to listen to as we're driving around! It has also peaked his interest in getting the actual books and he is eager to learn to read them on his own. Definately recommended!
My kids had never heard or read anything from the Magic Tree House collection. Both my kids now love the adventures of Jack and Annie. My kids are age 6 and 4 and since I bought this audio I have bought several of the books for my older son. I wish there were more large collections of this series in audio.
