Publisher's Summary

A friendly Bulgarian king, a dastardly lion tamer, a pair of kidnapped parents, a pride of lions, and a brave young boy on a mission: Together again in the second installment of the popular Lionboy series.

The continuation of the Lionboy trilogy follows Charlie Ashanti's search for his parents, accompanied by the lions he freed from a floating circus. Lionboy: The Chase further explores the complex motivations of characters introduced in the first novel, while nonstop twists and turns will enrapture readers young and old.

Charlie's ability to speack Cat allows him to befriend circus animals and street strays; with their help, he may yet rescue his mother and father from the evil forces that imprison them. From a luxurious train carriage racing across France to the canals of Venice and then on the run again, listeners join Charlie through one hair-raising adventure after another.

Don't miss the first book in this trilogy, Lionboy.

"Lionboy: The Chase was a great listen!"

My 12 year old son and I listen to audiobooks in the car on the way to school, we both enjoyed this continuing adventure. The story move along quickly and the developments with the characters we met in the first story keep you engaged right up to the exciting conclusion of this book!
Simon Jones is one of the best narrators we have ever heard - We have enjoyed his reading of other stories and he doesnt disappoint with this one!

    "Magnifico"

This book picks up EXACTLY where Lionboy left off. The narrator is the same, and still fabulous, and the storytelling is the same as well. The writing by this authoress-duo is appeals mainly to the elementary/middle school audience.

The characters are the same as Lionboy - still fabulous - the locations are totally different - still exotic - and the plot keeps going right along - still magnifico. This book provides us with a glimpse of what those exotic locales might feel like in the not-so-distant future, making me want to look up more about all of them as soon as I have the free time (that is assuming there is such a thing as free time and a wormhole opens up to deliver it to me at some point.)

The authors have kept up their trend of almost-but-not-quite sympathetic antagonists, and their entirely-too-smart-but-still-beliveable protagonists. There are probably just not enough good things to be said about this series and this book. Hurrah for the Corders!

"Are we going somewhere with this?"

Characters were fun to visit again but this was not as good as the first. Sort of like watching a circus dog chasing his tail. You keep waiting for something more interesting to happen.

    "Good Guys/Bad Guys"

I loved this story just as much as the first in the series. The twists and turns leaving you guessing who's "safe" and whether the good guys are as bad as the Corporacy. The primary theme of true friendship is refreshing and the loyalty that abounds warms the heart as it entertains!
