"The love god himself is trapped in the amulet, and Juliet needs to find the way to release him before the chaos gets out of hand. Coville's easy style works well in a tale that has it's share of both humor and heartache. Fans of the Magic Shop series will enjoy this latest installment." (Booklist)
"Although humorous, the story has surprising depth, with musings on honor, power, strength, courage, and, above all, love....Coville capably interweaves mythological characters with realistic modern ones, keeping readers truly absorbed." (School Library Journal)
I am an 'older' reader and I thought this book was absolutely the best. It made me smile, laugh and even cry. A definite recommended reading by anybody who loves more 'innocence and humor' in their readings.
I read/listen to many books in choosing books for my school library. This is one I will definitely add. It has humor, suspense, intrigue, mystery, fantasy. And it is quite appropriate for the older readers in my K-5 library. Enjoy!
