Publisher's summary

It's all fun and games until somebody ends up in the pound. It's been a busy few days for the Head of Ranch Security, what with routine patrols and not-so-routine combat with headless monsters. When the dust settles, Hank decides to take a break from duty and visit his sister in town. There, he enjoys the garbage patrol of a lifetime and faces down a brood of sassy town cats - and the plot thickens. Hank contracts a mysterious case of "soap hydrophobia" and ends up imprisoned in the dog pound! Is there any hope of escape for everyone's favorite cowdog?

Original songs include "Your Momma Wears Old Tow Sack Drawers", "Cats are Stupid", and "Kicking My Dog Around".

Very silly and some LOL moments

Sometimes I think the book is pretty funny then other times I think it is so disrespectful that I'm glad I don't have young kids listening. Just as most books and movies are really only understood by adults, the same is with this book. The main character, Hank, has a great dislike for cats. He even goes so far as saying God made a mistake when He created cats. The listener needs to take these as folly and dismiss them or it will drag down the story.

Hank is pretty self important. I know a few humans like him.

Note to parents

I love John Erickson's per trail of the story, but as a note to parents with small children, itdoes have a curse word in this story. It's the other word for donkey.

This is the first Hank I have not given five stars

I love this story, mostly… l have to admit that there are definitely some downsides to this book. First it uses an alternative word for donkey not as a curse but it’s still in there. Second the narrator seems to smack his lips. I love this series and l wish l could give this book five stars but l feel like l should be honest and state my opinions.
