Loved it!

Really short, but even the intro is funny. Stephen Colbert is funny, even at his worst, but this was pretty good. Sort of like Seuss in rhythm, but with the interaction between Tom Hanks and Stephen Colbert in the introduction and at the end, it was very entertaining. The main part is great for kids. Hey, Maurice Sendak liked it, and he didn't even like kids.

Charming.

What made the experience of listening to I Am a Pole (And So Can You!) the most enjoyable?

While the story is tounge in cheek funny, the play between Tom Hanks and Stepen Colbert is worth the price in it's self. Their back and forth could be enjoyed by adults and children as well. It again makes one wonder, is their nothing these two performer can't do?

What did you like best about this story?

Clever! Good fun for all ages.

Moved me to laugh through out.

A Pole?

Any additional comments?

Why did I buy I am a Pole (And So Can You!) you ask? Because there was a lot of hype behind it, because Maurice Sendak likes it, because proceeds from this book will be donated to charity, because I needed a break from the book I am currently listening to, because I am sucker, I will let you decide. I had to know what a pole’s purpose in life would be according to Stephen Colbert.

I am a Pole (And So Can You!) is a cute tale of the dreams of a pole, yes a pole. Ridiculous, yes absolutely. Entertaining, yes. I do not feel bad for buying I am a Pole (And So Can You!) because 100% of the proceeds will go to US vets! This was my first adventure into children’s audio books and audio books that are less than 10 minutes in length. All in all I am a Pole (And So Can You!) did make me laugh out loud. Audible.com gives you a PDF version of the book so you can follow along with the story while you listen to this with your kids.

I don't even know what I was expecting

It's a story about a pole told as if to small children. The book itself is not particularly funny. However, the banter between Colbert and Hanks was hilarious and that alone was worth the price of admission. The thoughtful inclusion of a .pdf file with all the illustrations was gravy. I cannot regret spending $1.50 on this.

Any additional comments?

Don't "read" this book as a bedtime story.....
