The hilarious series which inspired the Dream Works Film. The Fire-Stone has been stolen, the volcano is active and the Exterminator dragons have their CLAWS out! Can Hiccup be the Hero of the hour? David Tennant reads this hilarious children's classic which can be enjoyed by everybody.

I really enjoy this series of books. When my son is a little older, we will read and listen to these books. David Tennant is a fantastic narrator, his voices are hilarious and wonderful. I highly recommend!
I like kid books on occasion. Don't get into this one thinking its anything like the movie though. So long as you keep the two separate from each other its enjoyable even for adults. Very cute and adorable as well as a lot of fun.
Yes, my son's could not stop listening. David Tennant's delivery of this tale just proves he is a multi-faceted actor. We (yeah, I couldn't stop listening either) have listened to all the stories up to this one and look forward to the rest ... especially if Mr. Tennant performs.
Non-stop action by a group of friends. Cressida Cowell has penned a classic series of tales. This one continues the adventure and Hiccup is one of those hero's that is able to provide the fun example of why violence is not always the best response to a situation. Cressida is able to use suitably engaging names (Snotlout, Gobber the Belch) and situations for boys hitting their potty humour stage of life. Just plain good fun from start to finish!
David Tennant is able breathe life into each character with his incredible range of voices. You do not have any doubt about who has spoken a line or what is to be conveyed. Yet another simply incredible performance from a very talented actor.
Over summer vacation the kids and I listened to 4 of the series of 8. It was great fun and David Tennant made the characters come alive with different voices and personalities.
My kids absolutely love this book following the story of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III and this 5th book in the series is wonderful. They're fun and adventurous which appeal to my boys.
David Tennant is wonderful at narrating these books, he really gets into the story which keeps my youngest entertained.
We have this series of books on in the car when travelling, they're wonderfully entertaining even for the adults and keep everyone amused on long journeys.
"Great fun for all ages"
This title from Cressida Cowell is excellent a very exciting and entertaining story about hiccup and his adventures. The story is engaging and the characters realistic. The narrator, David Tenant (doctor who) was an excellent choice by Cowell and he really makes the story come alive.
Both myself and my children really enjoyed this title and we have bought the rest of the series
"perfect for a five year old - and their parents!"
We purchased this title out of necessity - as our son was desperate to see what happened to Hiccup in the next installment. The series has captured his imagination, and although I read the first book to him, David Tennant does a sterling job for me, when we are in the car :) The twists and turns of the story have our little boy entranced, and often chuckling out loud at Toothless and co's antics. In fact, the stories have drawn both of us in, as well, and headphones are no longer required in order to preserve the driver's sanity - unlike the Thomas the Tank Engine stories of old...
"How to twist a dragon's tail"
Once again Cressida brings a wonderful tale to life with great humour. Enjoyed listening to this with my grandkids
"The Plot Thickens.....How to Twist a Dragon's Tale"
In book 5 of the popular "How to Train Your Dragon" series we find out that there is more to Hiccup and Alvin's relationship. We learn that their fates and fortunes are intertwined and this leaves us wanting more from the next books in the sequence. Without giving anything away (or "spoilers" as David Tennant's doctor put it) this is a fantastic story full of Cressida Cowell's usual humor and excitement with that extra twist. It's a story for kids that is just as entertaining for adults to listen along, enhanced by the great acting ability of David Tennant who puts a great deal of effort into bringing each character to life using different accents, tones and personalities. The original music is great too.
Thoroughly enjoyable. Would recommend for long car journeys with the kids as it keeps everyone's interest throughout (and the peace!).
