My daughter loves it.

I personally find the voice to be grading, annoying and overall atrocious but tolerable and you can't go wrong with classic Dr Seuss Grinch Stole Christmas story. My daughter absolutely loves it and that's all that matters to me so it's a win for me.

Didn’t Care for the Production

This is an absolute must-read for me every Christmas. I normally read a hard copy, but I couldn’t resist this reading by Walter Matthau on Audible. Unfortunately, I didn’t care for this production. I imagine that I would have enjoyed it more if I was sitting at Matthau’s feet watching him read it. But this production also had musical background music that I didn’t care for. It detracted from the story

Give it a read this Christmas! It’s a five-star work, even though this Audible version is more like three.

My kids love this story.

I too grew up watching this on tv at Christmas and so to hear Walter Matthau narrate it doesn't sound right to me BUT my kids LOVE it. They have listened to it a hundred times I am sure.
Great to put on at bedtime as it is only 12 minutes long.

Thanks to Dr Seuss!

Remembering and appreciating Walter Matthau as an actor, I got a kick from his rendition of this story. Not to take away from this, but Karloff’s has a special and permanent place in my heart; that TV show is required viewing every Christmas.

I think of this story every time I meet a person in real life whose heart is three sizes too small.

Only negative is whoever produced this version overdid the horns - they actually took away from Matthau’s performance and stepped (leaped) over the line into the demented range.
