This is one of several classic short stories written by acclaimed author Harriet Beecher Stowe. Almost fable-like, this story follows a chicken couple who became parents to a brood of ducks. The trouble arrives when no one initially realizes the baby fowl are not actually chickens. Even the coop doctor passes along an outrageous remedy that adds humor to this delightful tale.
