I listened to this book while driving my 15 year old to a youth conference. I picked it out for my 9 year old boy who accompanied us on the 4 hour drive. My 15 year old usually listens to his own music, but he had liked this story so much when he was younger, he decided to listen along with us and that is saying something. I enjoyed the story and am proud to say that a word I invented when I was a teenager is still used in my own community. It is a nickname for the local college.
We have listened to lots of books on our road trips over the years, and this one was my family's favorite. (Family consists of me, wife, 11 year old boy and 9 year old girl.) The story was funny and kept moving enough to keep us entertained on the long road. The reading was lively and understandable for the kids, who sometimes struggle on road trips to understand. The only downside was that it is relatively short, so we needed several other books to pass the time.
All ages will enjoy this wonderful telling of an amusing tale of wit and humor!! Our family laughed through the whole story as we identified with Nick's ingenious mind! We hope you enjoy this book as much as we did.
As an educator I LOVED this story! There is always that one kid ... You can interpret that phrase two different ways and both are represented in the book. In the end, my heart melted and made me think of some of my students that was like Nick!
The narrator was perfectly paired with this novel. This story is relatable to adults, terns, and adolescents. Both heartwarming and humorous, this is a novel easily recommended to all readers.
This was a really good story we read it twice, then listened to it
