    "Freak the Mighty"

This was my first audio book I have ever listened to. I really enjoyed the book and this was some great writing. I can't wait to see the movie now! There is some material that in my opinion would not be suited for a young child. It was good!

    Story
"Great story and narration for tweens/young teens!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Freak the Mighty to be better than the print version?

I listened to this story with my son, who has LD and has difficulty reading books in print, but loves audio books. He thought this was the best book he's ever read and profoundly connected with the characters. He was able to analyze the book for a school project and found it to be easier because he understood the book so well.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Freak the Mighty?

My son loved the part where Freak and Max take on the bullies and then later Killer Kane.

What does Eldon Henson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Eldon Henson's narration was exactly what we wanted for this story. He was perfect as Max and absolutely brought the story alive for my son.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, because we wanted to talk about it after a few chapters.

    Any additional comments?

I'd recommend following up with the movie, "The Mighty" and talk about how the book and then compare the two.

    "Could be better!"

Some middle school students that heard the recording were not hoocked by the voice. Great for older students who have a difficulty reading the book.
