Mortal Castor and immortal Pollux, also known as the Dioscuri, are twins born to Leda from different fathers - one human, the other a god. Narrator Benjamin Soames performs their adventures with verve and provides each twin with a recognizable voice. Listeners will be intrigued by the Dioscuri's heroic deeds as much as they will be repelled by their wrongdoing. Among the adventures recounted here is the Dioscuri's clash with their cousins Lynceus and Idas, whose bloody conclusion provides an entertaining explanation for the constellation of Gemini.
This is a story from the More Tales from the Greek Legends collection.

Orpheus, devastated by the death of his wife, Eurydice, dares the dangers of the kingdom of the dead in an attempt to bring her back to life. Echo loves Narcissus but he only loves himself: a story that can only end in sadness. These and other colourful legends from Ancient Greece are retold in lively form by Benjamin Soames, with classical music providing further excitement.
