What the Critics Say

"Everyone will enjoy and benefit from meeting the All-of-a-Kind Family." (AudioFile)
"Suzanne Toren's nuanced reading brings the characters to life. She perfectly captures the voices of the young sisters, and her rendition of the immigrant accents of New York keeps the reading lively....Children will find themselves captivated." (School Library Journal)

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I love this series. It is a lovley depiction of Jewish life in turn-of-the-century NYC. By the time we get to "Downtown" we see the girls continuing to grow up and learn more and more about interacting with the world.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    You bet!

    Any additional comments?

Unfortunately, this recording needs to be remastered badly. The highs are WAY too high, and the lows are nearly inaudible. It makes it very hard to listen to, and detracts from the enjoyment of hearing the story.
