Estate planning lawyer and mom to two boys. My older son liked audiobooks as an infant, and I've listened to a lot since then.
Not sure why my son and I have gotten a bit tired with this series, when other things from this age group still delight. The characters seem a bit unlikeable in this installment, and despite the narrator/author being an actor, his is not my favorite voice to listen to. Still, if your child likes this series, there's nothing particularly objectionable here. My son liked it more than I did.
My daughter and I have listened to the series and we were both looking forward to this book. After about 20 minutes she was asking me when it was going to be over and if I would please turn it off. The Author and Narrator is a very talented person and we enjoy the performance of the series but this was grating. Unless the audience member is older they most likely won't get the humor of these two stories. I would not waste the time or money on this purchase.
The one character dialogue for the vast majority of the story makes for an annoying audiobook. The humor is lost on younger fans and generally speaking most children won't get the historical references.
Would like a refund....and I only paid half price.
