Publisher's summary

It's been a year since the Catalog Killer terrorized the sleepy seaside town of Camera Cove, killing four people before disappearing without a trace. Like everyone else in town, 18-year-old Mac Bell is trying to put that horrible summer behind him - easier said than done since Mac's best friend Connor was the murderer's final victim.

But when he finds a cryptic message from Connor, he's drawn back into the search for the killer - who might not have been a random drifter after all. Now nobody - friends, neighbors, or even the sexy stranger with his own connection to the case - is beyond suspicion. Sensing that someone is following his every move, Mac struggles to come to terms with his true feelings towards Connor while scrambling to uncover the truth.

Ryan and Crouch are a beautiful match.

Ryan’s story is a winding wild ride, and Crouch’s voice places the listener directly in the shoes of the main character. Suspense, heartbreak, and a mystery unlike any I’ve read before.

Excellent Mystery with Some Nice Twists

Tom Ryan’s novel is gripping, engaging, and keeps you guessing. There were a few points throughout the listen when I thought I’d figured something out only to be pleasantly surprised — the ending, though a little unrealistic, was definitely satisfying; I hadn’t accurately guessed the identity of the killer and the reveal was great.

As usual, Michael Crouch nails it with his narration. I do feel that the characters were a little flat, but for the purposes of a YA murder mystery, they serve the plot well. Mac is likable and sweet, but not super interesting otherwise. His love interest felt a little unnecessary, but it didn’t hurt the story at all.

I will say that Ryan’s ability to paint a scene was great; Camera Cove was described beautifully at several points throughout the novel and the town was a perfect backdrop to the mystery! I enjoyed ‘Keep This to Yourself’ very much! Perfect for the spooky Halloween season! 🎃

A Nice Experince

I really enjoyed this story all the way until the ending. If I had one gripe, I’d say Mac wasn’t super endearing to me as a main character. But I suppose that is subjective. In my opinion, he made a lot of not great decisions in pivotal parts of the story.

But beyond that I really enjoyed the entire experience.
