If you like fever dreams… Go for it

First off- Xe Sands narrates every other book in the series and this narrator completely ruined the voices of so many of the characters. She made Noah’s voice sound old and frail. Just terrible. But let’s get to the plot. It’s like the weirdest sex-driven dream/nightmare I’ve ever experienced. Corinne and Kane are imprinted so their bond is literally irresistible, but Corinne has ZERO memory of the 5-second intro she even got to Kane in the first place. HOWEVER the author just puts her waking up, NAKED, in bed next to Kane who is literally shackled by his hands and feet so he doesn’t give in to his moon-crazed urges and take advantage of her. The back and forth of sexual tension mixed with Kane having to convince Corinne of this entirely alien world she’s now a part of while they’re literally imprisoned together was just…uncomfortable for me. I honestly feel sorry for both characters and I wish they could have gotten a better story (like all the other couples in the series) rather than a few hours of being forced by “the moon and destiny” to come to grips with so much life-altering news. The other books in the series are SO much better. Both the writing and narration. This was a disappointment, for sure.

Kane

Oh I forgot how much I loved this series. I don’t know how I missed this book when I was reading the others, but I am so glad I found it now. Kane and Corrine brought me back to a world I missed. While it was short it added so much to the story I already knew.
