Publisher's summary

Is Atheism Dead? is an entertaining, impressively wide-ranging, and decidedly provocative answer to that famous 1966 Time cover that itself provocatively asked “Is God Dead?”

In a voice that is by turns witty, muscular, and poetic, Metaxas intentionally echoes C. S. Lewis and G. K. Chesterton in cheerfully and logically making his astonishing case, along the way presenting breathtaking - and often withering - new evidence and arguments against the idea of a Creatorless universe. Taken all together, he shows atheism not merely to be implausible and intellectually sloppy, but now demonstrably ridiculous. Perhaps the only unanswered question on the subject is why we couldn’t see this sooner, and how embarrassed we should be about it.

Incredible book. What a gift to a struggling physician trying to reconcile science and the Bible. Recommend without reservation.

Fantastic!

This book is a slap in the face of the new atheism worshipers! It is very well supported with undisputed historical and scientific facts!

Worth the Read

This book is comprehensive in its coverage of this topic. I also learned a myriad of new vocabulary words. Eric is masterful at crafting his argument (although a bit verbose at times. I highly recommend.

engaging, funny, and fascinating!

I really enjoyed this audiobook from Eric Metaxas. Eric is a great reader and it's wonderful to have his voice, as the author, sharing his words with the listeners. the book is broken down into three sections. part one is does the science point to god? part 2 is the stones cry out on archeology, and part 3 is what is truth on the philosophy of atheism. I found this book to be riveting and extremely engaging. I work through it sequentially but you can certainly approach it topically since there's so much there. highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing! What more can be said?

Eric Metaxis slowly, succinctly analyzed the facts, after assembling them together, and brilliantly submitted his findings! The most telling submissions of life I've ever heard!

Great Listen

Writer lays out the flaws in Atheism science itself has created. Science still can't move so many things out of the realm of being a theory. In other words they BELIEVE it works a certain way and work from that BELIEF. Sounds like it takes a lot of faith to be a scientist.

A profound summary of the irrationality of atheism…

It can be difficult to keep up with all the scientific developments with ramifications for a theistic worldview, even a biblical one. Metaxas does a fantastic job presenting a broad summary with enough detail to interest further study. He is a very good writer, with a wry sense of humor…

Great follow-up to the Bible

I love the way Eric lays out his argument in such a way to cover all sides. This is not an opinion piece where the author writes what he “thinks” is the truth based on his “years of experience” with unknown sources. Rather Eric Metaxas uses the conclusions of several famous and not so famous scientists to prove his point. He concludes that divine design from a Creator is the only conclusion possible. It’s obvious this book is God-inspired and praise God for that!

Sound arguments!

Excellent evidence for the case against atheism and for the loving God of the bible.
