Amazing series!

SRL never fails to entertain. His fantasy books are always gripping, and never fail to bring tears to my eyes or evoke great emotion for the characters. The Irish accent was the perfect added touch to a fantastic trilogy that I didn't want to end. I highly recommend this book and all of SRL's fantasy books.

The story is the trilogy.

I wished the Light of Truth came before Patrick in the Epilogue. But it came.

The narrator did a really great job! I enjoyed the telling almost as much as the story itself, the narrator brought it to life.

An Epic End to a Fantastic Trilogy

The characters are believable and interesting, continuing to develop and grow as the story continues. The major conflict is epic and satisfying. The narrator is perfect for this book, delivering dialogue in an engaging way--you can picture everything clearly in your head as he speaks. On the whole, this is a fantastic book. I'd highly recommend both it and the trilogy it belongs to.

Could not stop books 1-3

I listened to the second half of book 1 straight through book three for the few days on end that it took me. I stayed up late, put it on while I drives, listened while I worked, and shut the door to my room for the last hour of the last book so as not to be interrupted by anyone.

I tested up, I laughed, and I laid back on my bed and stared at the ceiling as the trilogy came to a close. I’m pensive, and I’m awe, sad that the tale is over, but satisfied and yet wanting more.

The narrator delivered the story in more than perfection. My only wish is that I could sit down now with the Author to discuss the story and our common faith together.

Fantastic End to the Series

Wow! What a fantastic end to such a good series. I am such a Stephen Lawhead fan. And this is one of his best.

Another great book by Lawhead

Another great story to make you dream of days far gone. Days of heroes fighting for their families and honor. Days of magic and Druids, and fierce warriors, fairies and fair maidens.

Average ending. Worst book in the series(SPOILERS)

Unsatisfying ending to a good series. Felt obligatory. Why include the chariots if they arent even a serious plot point in the end. The discovery and time dedicated in the earlier books about forging the wheels and captured labor for them to end up basically a prop feels disjointed. The faeries use magic to give Connor the chance to kill the Skalda king which is something they could have done at any point. The reason they decided to finally help?? Connor told them about the other faeries who were trying to get new metal?? His heads up somehow changes all of our long held positions. Let's suddenly become allies!! Also these super cool new swords dont factor in at all in the final battle..... sooooo why even make them??? Just seems like a lot of meandering to fill a book to end a good series poorly. So much interest created in the skalda in the first 2 books without any payoff in their motivations, superior technology, knowledge of the faeries. Kiera's death felt useless since it served no purpose in moving the story. Just something bad so not everyone survives and the ending is too happy. Obligatory. I looked forward to this book for a long time and am sad this is the effort we get to finish the series.
