Publisher's summary

In the Blood by award-winning author Nancy A. Collins tells the story of a punk female vampire/vampire hunter who teams up with a psychic detective to track down the man responsible for turning her into one of the undead.

Vampire and vampire-hunter Sonja Blue is back, taking out her rage on the demonic blood-drinkers who hide among the living. But her hunt is attracting attention: Morgan, the monster who remade her 20 years ago wants to bring his beloved daughter to heel, and Sonja has found her existence entwined with that of a mortal man. Part of her wants to love him, but when dealing with monsters such as she, where does love end and slavery begin? The answer is in the blood.

Great story..less than stellar voices.

Overall, it’s absolutely amazing story. My husband got me into the Sonia blue series and I am glad I did. This performer was very different than the first book and I love her version of Sonia, but not a fan of the remaining characters.

Fantastic story telling!

I loved it and am moving to the next book 4.
The lady who read the book, really brought the whole story to life.

Love the story- hate the narrators voice

I loved reading this series and decided to try the audio books. The first was amazing- changing the narrator was a mistake. Her nasally voice grated and made it near impossible to listen to. I finally gave up and just re read the physical books. Waste of $$ imho, can not recommend

this halvorson person needs to get some education

Anais has three syllables, not two- you enunciate all five letters. Google "how to pronounce Anais". The reader's constant mispronunciation is grating.

Solid story, narrator was hard to listen to.

I enjoyed this series when I first read it. It still holds up really well. I have to say the narration by Julie Hoverson was tough to get through. She is competent, but chose a series of character voices that just did not fit the tone. Her Sonja sounded like a Disney Siamese cat talking down to its owner. Plamer sounded like a poorly trained drag queen act. Pangloss and Annis were done very well but then she delivers an over the top, parody of a bond villian with Morgan. If she is the narrator in the next book, I will have to pass on it.
