Publisher's summary

Friendships and family abound during a week of love, laughter, and happily-ever-afters.

Catch up with your favorite characters and enjoy Bones and Sarah’s wedding, while falling in love with the newest Whiskey-world couple: Penny Wilson and Scott Beckley, in this Whiskey series novella.

When everything you want is right in front of you, but it's still out of reach....

Penny Wilson has a successful business, more friends than a girl could ask for, and a boyfriend she’s madly and passionately in love with. Scott Beckley is honest, loyal, hands down the best lover on the planet, and absolutely gaga over his nieces and nephews. Scott’s a keeper...as long as Penny doesn’t ever want to hear those three magical words that would take their relationship to the next level. Scott escaped abusive parents at 17, and was forced to find his way alone in the world. Even though it’s been more than a decade and he’s reunited with his estranged sisters and built a good life in Peaceful Harbor, Maryland, he’s still tortured by his past. Penny knows he loves her with everything he has, but for a girl who wants a family and a guy who is afraid of having one, love might not be enough.

The Whiskeys are perfect stories to enjoy at the beach, with depth of character, strong family ties, and a wealth of emotions. Small-town love stories with happily-ever-afters guaranteed.

Heartwarming!

Melissa Foster always writes a heartfelt story of love and this one is no exception!
Scott had abusive parents when he was growing up. He tried his best to protect his two sisters, but he had it into his head that he didn’t want any children because he was afraid he would be like his dad. Penny had a successful ice cream shop and wanted kids. They were very much in love, but would love be enough?
Tor Thom and Ava Erickson narrated it and they were brilliant! Tor has that deep sexy voice and Ava has that smooth female voice. Together they brought this home in a big way!

So short and good

This book is short and sweet. We meet Scott and Penny in the Whiskey Bros. Series. These two are very loveable characters. Scott has been through so much in his life but still manages to do everything he can for those he loves. Penny owns an ice cream shop Luscious Licks that everyone loves. Just reading about the great treats she makes has me craving ice cream. If you have read the Whiskey series you get to see all of your favorite characters and there is a special event that happens. The book is a novella being 7 chapters. I listened to the audio version and the narrators were good. Ava Erickson and Tor Thom make you feel like you are right there in the middle of things.

Short and sweet.

This is a sweet novella that gives a picture of Scott’s life and his relationship with Penny. It’s short, sweet, sexy and powerful. I’m so happy that Scott and Penny get their HEA.

Sweet story!

Scott, Sarah and Josie's older brother and Penny, Finlay's sister and Quincy's best friend, have been dating for a while. Penny wants more but knows where Scott stands on commitment due to his horrible childhood. Prior to heading to Bones and Sarah's wedding, they confess their love for each other but it doesn't change Scott's feelings on commitment. While at the wedding, Penny is so overcome with emotion being around the love all her friends have found, that she knows her relationship with Scott has to end. While the wedding festivities continue, Scott realizes that their childhood has not kept his sisters from finding their HEA and he is not going to let it keep him from getting his HEA with Penny and a surprise she has yet to disclose.

Great narration.

I LOVED IT!

I absolutely loved it! Although this book was a quick read, it didn't lack entertainment or emotions! The narration was great. The author did a great job with the character builds and plot. I look forward to reading more books this series! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Quick listen with great narration and a great story

In for a Penny was a quick listen but it still packed a mighty punch. This is Penny and Scott’s story and we have net them before in The Gritty Truth but that being said I believe this novella can certainly be read or listened to as a stand-alone.
The narration team of Ava Erickson and Tor Thom did a wonderful job and they really brought the characters and their story to life. They were easy to listen to and they hit all the feels that this quick story is full off.
Penny owns the ice cream parlour in Peaceful Harbor and life is looking good but deep down she is scared it’s all too good to be true and she is going to lose it all.

Perfect addition

Perfect addition to the Whiskey (Love In Bloom) series...

Penny and Scott were there in the background. They were that couple you could see love shine around. They were the couple you could see having that more. It was then seeing it In themselves that was the test. On pin and needles this was a challenge. Penny and to know she deserved more but she needed to speak up. Scott had to believe in himself that he was not the monster he knew his own father to be. Life had something bigger and more in store for him and his life with Penny.

I thought it was a beautiful addition to the Whiskeys series of Peaceful Harbor. Scott we got to meet a few books back with his sisters and their initiation to the Whiskey clan. This was a quickie romance that had a few surprises. Maybe a few tears.

Tor and Ava brought these characters right off the pages and vividly into your mind. Melissa Foster as usually brought the love another couple and the friends and family that support them.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Realistic Wonderful characters Easy-to-read Entertaining Perfect addition to series Family Friends Love

Enjoyable and quick

Finally Scott and Penny's story! These characters have popped up in so many of the other books it was nice that they got some time in the spot light! Even though their story was told in this quick novella with the back drop of Bones and Sarah's wedding it worked for the pair. Scott, damaged from his up brining and worried that he could be a violent person like his father is a tender and loving at the same time throughout this story. He is scared to admit his feelings for Penny despite having them. Penny, is so in love with Scott had wants nothing more than to have her successful business and the man that she loves by her side with the hopes of building a family together. The pair have amazing chemistry together and a deep love. This quick story also has appearances by all of the characters from the previous books in the series as well. The narration by Eva Erickson and Tom Thor was performed well and made for an enjoyable listening experience. Overall, this was an enjoyable book.

My Thoughts on In For a Penny

This was such a great novella. It managed to pack a lot of emotion and heart into a short number of words and I really enjoyed it. Scott and Penny were a good couple to read about, especially after having seen so much of them in previous books, it was nice to see them get their HEA. I was certainly rooting for them all the way. The narration was a definite bonus for me. I liked both voices and would happily listen to them again in future.
