Publisher's summary

Being a bit of an asshole isn't required to survive the zombie apocalypse, but it helps.

Mead, the socially awkward fry cook turned zombie slayer, abandoned the main group of survivors weeks ago, fleeing like a ghost in the night. His whereabouts have been a mystery, until now. I Kill the Dead is Mead's story and sets the stage for the Life of The Dead finale in book 5.

In the months after the zombies arrived, Mead travels the east coast, kills zombies with reckless glee, crafts an assortment of weapons, and meets fellow survivors, some new and some old.

Along the way Mead shares his expertise on everything from exploding zombies to oral hygiene in the midst of the apocalypse.

I Kill the Dead is a novella told from Mead's point of view.

Interesting

I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for a review. I enjoyed the story and the characters. It was a quick listening to the detailed life of one survivor and gave me some new ideas of how to survive if the zombies 🧟‍♀️ come.

Good book

Didn’t like Mead from the previous in this series but dude grows on you. Hate how some really good characters die in this series but it still leaves others that keep it going. There’s enough different things going on in this series that it keeps you hanging on. Curious where the next book goes. And what’s up with all the unusual names of peopl. Nothing common about this series.

Loved this series!

I started this series with book two. I had not listened to book one, so it was a little hard for me to get into the story, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Once I got into the story I burned through listening to the rest of the series through book 5. I really loved the characters and scenarios they got involved with.

I Kill the Dead

I Kill the Dead was awesome! I loved every minute of it. It shed light on a few characters that I had wondered about. The narration is much improved and really brought Mead to life. Starting Red Runs the River now!

A great addition to the Life of the Dead Series

Mead appeared at the beginning of the series. However, due to conflict and separation of opinion as to how to survive the apocalypse, he rejected the group and decided to venture out on his own. I don't want to go into the details of the plot and spoil the story for anyone. That being said, I enjoyed getting to know Mead's character; I both empathized and rooted for him. He was able, resourceful and exceptional at killing zombies.

The novella / short novel was written well. It was fast-paced, action-packed with excellent character development. There are a lot of zombie-fighting scenes and an unexpected event for the fans of the series.

Matthew Crow did an excellent job narrating this audiobook. His performance, especially as Mead was excellent. I Kill the Dead, is a great addition to the Life of the Dead Series. I highly recommend a copy.

Best one Yet

Wow!

I like the lone wolf point of view this book offers.

Although there are fewer characters this is the best book yet.

The story progresses so good I couldn’t believe it ended so quickly.

I am onto the next installment.

Matthew Crow has once again surpassed his previous narration!
