Publisher's summary

Sadie Wen is perfect on paper: school captain, valedictorian, and a "pleasure to have in class." It's not easy, but she has a trick to keep her model-student smile plastered on her face at all times: she channels all her frustrations into her email drafts. She'd never send them of course—she'd rather die than hurt anyone's feelings—but it's a relief to let loose on her power-hungry English teacher or a freeloading classmate taking credit for Sadie's work.

All her most vehemently worded emails are directed at her infuriating cocaptain, Julius Gong, whose arrogance and competitive streak have irked Sadie since they were kids. "You're attention starved and self-obsessed and unbearably vain . . . I really hope your comb breaks and you run out of whatever expensive hair products you've been using to make your hair appear deceptively soft . . ."

Sadie doesn't have to hold back in her emails, because nobody will ever read them . . . that is, until they're accidentally sent out.

Overnight, Sadie's carefully crafted, conflict-free life is turned upside down. It's her worst nightmare—now everyone at school knows what she really thinks of them, and they're not afraid to tell her what they really think of her either. But amidst the chaos, there's one person growing to appreciate the "real" Sadie—Julius, the only boy she's sworn to hate . . . .

Talk about a push and pull

This is one of the most compelling rivals to lovers I have ever seen. I do want to mention I love to see character grow.

An Ultra Slow Burn, Enemies to Lovers Story!

This book grabbed my interest for both the cover design and the synopsis- especially the part about it being like To All the Boys I Loved Before, but only if Lara Jean wrote hate notes instead of love letters!

I had extremely high expectations of this book! I even got it on audio too so I could listen to it at night, and I had stayed up way too late at night listening to it!

I had originally thought this one would be more (academic) rivals to lovers, but it’s definitely a true enemies to lovers, so if you’re a fan of that trope, check this book out!

I also found Sadie very relatable to how I used to be, and even still am a little bit today. It was encouraging to watch her learn to love herself and let go of what others thought.

And if you love an ultra slow burn, this one is for you!

Overall, I rate this one:

🌟🌟🌟🌟/5. (4/5)

Academic Rivals to Lovers

This book was so fun! Following Julius and Sadie’s story made me want to jump through the pages and shake them! This book is the perfect academic rivals to lovers, and ends in the most heart fluttering way. I loved the narrator, the perfect voice for Sadie!! This book gives such To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before vibes, but is such a different story! Overall amazing!!!

THE ENDING

I caught myself screaming every other chapter, it was SO GOOD. It wasnt like a forced romance either, it was an easy into Sadie slowly realizing her true feelings. AND THE ENDING??? OMG I CANT
