Who could fault David Tenent????

This man is fabulous!! He seems to have an extensive understanding of the fact that we can't see him, and adjusts his style to reading and performing a story instead of performing it in a more visually oriented way. Very talented!! The character voices are wonderful, and even the straight narration is very well done, never boring. I love these books, but now when I read them the characters all have a voice of their own. I plan on getting some of the other books that Mr. Tenent has read, and I am sure that I will enjoy them.. All I can find are some of the classics that he has read, and I loved them the first time I read them. After listening to these, all I can think is that they may be improved with his talent.

a dragon for Fishlegs!

Any additional comments?

Im a grandmother and a bibliomaniac, but these books are my favorite (except for Pratchett). And they just keep getting better and better. The stories, the reader (Who?), the music (which is always too loud... my ONLY complaint), all send you to a wondeful place I love to visit over and over.

A great addition to the series!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

I like how (WARNING: spoiler to book twelve) the red herring fits perfectly into both categories: fake and real. Red herring means wrong turn, but it could also be reverse psychology! Hiccup finds that the herring is winking, so he takes the latter option and looks for the jewel and finds it! Only to realize that his luck may have run out when he finds out that our little red herring may not be a secret winker after all…

Had us on the edge of our seats

Non-stop action and surprises in this story. My 6 year old and I were hooked and listened as much as we could during the day. Ended on a crazy cliff hanger again which will drive us wild with anticipation until we get the next volume. This is an incredibly well written series and Cressida Cowell gets my utmost thanks and appreciation for bringing these characters to life and into our world. We had really enjoyed the movie but I'm not sure we will ever watch it again after listening to the books. My kids have become excited about drawing dragons and are planning to make their own dragon guide which will be a really fun project.
If you are not already into this series start at book one and enjoy the ride!

Love

I have listened to this book maybe 12 times and every time it’s just as good. David does an incredible job narrating. He is absurdly talented and does such crazy good voices, it makes you feel like your really in the book

Spectacular!

Cressida Cowell and David Tennant save the day! My husband and I just took a ten hour road trip with our two daughters, who are 8 and 5 years old, and thanks to this amazing series we have all had a wonderful time. Instead of nerves being stretched to the breaking point at the end of the day everyone is talking about how fun our day was and what might happen in the next book! Thank you!!!!
