Mary Lennox starts her life as an unhappy victim of circumstance. At first, she struggles to find a place in this new existence. Although unsure about her surroundings and its occupants, through the gentle guidance of the maid she gradually becomes interested in the story of Mrs Craven, who apparently used to spend her time in a garden at the house, the key to which has vanished.

An excellent look
at the Negro League. From its humble beginnings to the end of it in 1960. The author leaves no one out. All the league stars are in this book. A quick easy read while travelling.

Great job telling the story!!
I love hearing stories of the Negro Leagues. Saw the Negro League in KC. Could’ve stayed there several days. Thanks for putting this out!!
