Publisher's summary

In their new book, Unfit for Command, John O'Neill and co-author Jerome Corsi bring together the words of more than 200 Navy veterans who served with Kerry and who feel it their duty to tell why John Kerry is unworthy of the presidency.

In 1971, John O'Neill, the officer who took over John Kerry's swift boat in Vietnam, returned home from Vietnam only to realize that the man he served with, John Kerry, had become a leader of the radical group Vietnam Veterans Against the War and was slandering his fellow veterans as war criminals. O'Neill debated John Kerry on The Dick Cavett Show in 1971, successfully demolishing Kerry's accusations against his fellow troops in Vietnam. Unfit for Command reveals a John Kerry you don't know, the true John Kerry whom his political image makers are trying to hide. But the veterans who served with him know better, and, in Unfit for Command, they tell their story.

The right book at the right time

A well written and to the point narrative. Sometimes one has to put politics aside and call a spade a spade. This book flows and does not spare any punches. Any left leaning person who objectively reads this book will have the worst case of candidate buyer's remorse ever recorded in US history. I believe every word of this book because I knew people just like Kerry in the military. They were a cancer on morale and horrible leaders.

If there are lies or inconsistancies in the book, I want to know about them but this has caused my Kerry BS detector to wild. What true war hero brags about their war exploits, except someone who exaggerates?

Crap, Crap, Crap

These guys are nothing but partisan liars, many of who claim to have "served with Kerry", only by the fact that they were in Vietnam at the same time as Kerry. Save your time and money.

Hatchet Job

This author is uninterested and unencumbered by the truth. It is common knowledge that US soldiers committed numerous atrocities in Vietman. This fact mich have been controversial in the 1970's but it is not today. This is a perfect example of character assasination. This book is about as fair and balanced as Fox News. It doesn't even make interesting fiction. The allegations against Kerry are false. Richard Nixon was being embarassed by Kerry's statements and he dug up O'Neil to discredit Kerry's statements. The men who now oppose Kerry didn't serve with him and did not witness the events.

Don't read if you're voting for Kerry

You'll have to change your vote. Some issues like personality and Kerry's motives are debatable, but most of what O'Neil writes is verifiable and condeming:

Kerry used the swiftboat reunion as a photo-op and didn't stay for the memorial for his fallen comrades

Kerry lied, under oath about the atrocities committed
Over 200 of Kerry's fellow swifties condemn his presidential bid

Kerry met with the North Vietnamese DURING the Vietnam war

Kerry Lied about being in Cambodia, and repeated the same lie in several articles.

The writing style is direct, descriptive and effective. Reading the other reviewers who have given this book no stars, I really wonder if they have actually listened to it.

Surprise!!!

Listen to the reason why so many americans are now re-thinking whatever view they held on the Vietnam war. Apparently we were given a very one-sided view back then. Time for another viewpoint.

Learn about Kerry from the people who knew him and worked with him, and why they wouldn't trust him to bag their groceries let alone lead the free world.

Of course if you are a mentally deficient liberal never mind, these two hundred true war heroes are all deranged liars. Not!!!

Amount of Evidence

The book lays a clear pattern of John Kerry only looking out for himself and trying create a war hero image for his future political life. Additionally, it clearly explains how he gave aid and comfort to the enemy during a time of war. He encouraged a culture that told our returning warriors from Vietnam that they were criminals which was wrong.

If there was a challenge to only one action or two by Kerry in Vietnam, then the book could could be dismissed. But this book exposes questions about all of the actions of John Kerry.

John Kerry believes that his actions in Vietnam should be considered for him to be President. Therefore, people should evaluate his performance from both sides and decide if he is capabable of being the Commander in Chief.

Phenomenal

I've never in my life seen such a fervor to subvert a book as I have with this one! I couldn't find it in any book store despite its bestseller status and was thrilled when I found it here. How odd that so many books have come out criticizing the president, but one book comes out against this person and the country turns communist! I would recommend this book just to find out what is so damaging that no one wants objective readers to see.

Un-review-able

The book is a fantasy, and cannot be judged within it's own twisted little right-wing foaming-at-the-mouth world. No one should be deceived into thinking it is 'fair', 'balalnced', or truthful. Any reasonable external review of its assertions will reveal that they are unsubstantiated and unverifiable post-hoc opinions.

That being said, I expect only those disliking John Kerry will be interested in actually reading this swill.

Untruthful

"Unfit for Command" assembles anecdotal accounts from a variety of sources and contributors whose motives must be called into question. An attempt is made to create the appearance of fact. The motive of the authors is clear: torpedo the subject's legitimacy by portraying him as dishonest and lacking in moral character. Uncritical readers will be treated to a feast of damning "facts" about John Kerry's military service. Thoughtful readers will be repulsed by a propagandistic narative, which is not based in fact and whose motive is transparantly malevolent and unthruthful.

The truth hurts

While this is not a masterpiece of great writing, it is a compelling and timely subject.
I ask any detractors: why would over 200 men make up such a story? If you answer that they are partsian and working as secret operatives for the GOP, then I would ask for your proof. There IS no proof that these men are lying, but there is proof that they are telling the truth.
