Publisher's summary

In their new book, Unfit for Command, John O'Neill and co-author Jerome Corsi bring together the words of more than 200 Navy veterans who served with Kerry and who feel it their duty to tell why John Kerry is unworthy of the presidency.

In 1971, John O'Neill, the officer who took over John Kerry's swift boat in Vietnam, returned home from Vietnam only to realize that the man he served with, John Kerry, had become a leader of the radical group Vietnam Veterans Against the War and was slandering his fellow veterans as war criminals. O'Neill debated John Kerry on The Dick Cavett Show in 1971, successfully demolishing Kerry's accusations against his fellow troops in Vietnam. Unfit for Command reveals a John Kerry you don't know, the true John Kerry whom his political image makers are trying to hide. But the veterans who served with him know better, and, in Unfit for Command, they tell their story.

Un-review-able

The book is a fantasy, and cannot be judged within it's own twisted little right-wing foaming-at-the-mouth world. No one should be deceived into thinking it is 'fair', 'balalnced', or truthful. Any reasonable external review of its assertions will reveal that they are unsubstantiated and unverifiable post-hoc opinions.

That being said, I expect only those disliking John Kerry will be interested in actually reading this swill.

The truth hurts

While this is not a masterpiece of great writing, it is a compelling and timely subject.
I ask any detractors: why would over 200 men make up such a story? If you answer that they are partsian and working as secret operatives for the GOP, then I would ask for your proof. There IS no proof that these men are lying, but there is proof that they are telling the truth.

You can't handle the truth!

If you really read/listen to this book you will learn the truth about John Kerry. Kerry tried to block the release of this publication because he knows the contents would expose who he really is and would hurt his chances of winning the election. Take an objective listen to these historical facts. If you are a Bush hater you might as well look elsewhere. Your mind is already made up. In which case a selection of fiction from Michael Moore, Al Franken or Richard Clarke would be a better choice. If you want the real truth about John Kerry's (short) war record and what happened after give this a listen.

Why Now?

If this book is true, and I have no reason to doubt the 250+ veterans that served in Viet Name with Kerry, then why isn't there more about this on the news? Why did Ted Koppel go to Viet Nam to interview the Viet Cong to find out the truth about Kerry's record instead of asking these guys? They could review his military records but John Kerry has refused to signed the paper to make his military records public? What is he hiding? Why is John Kerry in a Viet Nam Museum as a war hero? Why are these veterans and former POW's coming out now? I believe it is because they know the real John Kerry and are trying to protect themselves, their families, our families and our country from the possibility of John Kerry becoming President, especially during this time of unrest. Any one who thinks they want to vote for John Kerry or aren't sure who to vote for should read this book. What an eye opener!

Poorly Researched

After listening to this book and checking with other source I've decided this book is just another shot by Republicans with agendas. I've given up on trying to find a non partisan political book.

A Viet Nam Refugee's point of view

I was evacuated from VietNam in 1975 by the US Marines. I am a true patriot and have always considered being an American a blessing. What I believe John O'Neill to be is an attack dog for Bush. War makes people turn into killing machines. That's their job. The massacre at My Lai happened. My family still suffers from the destruction of the country. I have never been so disappointed in a person as I am in John O'Neill. His writings are pure propaganda and he has zero character to stand on.

Crap, Crap, Crap

These guys are nothing but partisan liars, many of who claim to have "served with Kerry", only by the fact that they were in Vietnam at the same time as Kerry. Save your time and money.

Surprise!!!

Listen to the reason why so many americans are now re-thinking whatever view they held on the Vietnam war. Apparently we were given a very one-sided view back then. Time for another viewpoint.

Learn about Kerry from the people who knew him and worked with him, and why they wouldn't trust him to bag their groceries let alone lead the free world.

Of course if you are a mentally deficient liberal never mind, these two hundred true war heroes are all deranged liars. Not!!!

Amount of Evidence

The book lays a clear pattern of John Kerry only looking out for himself and trying create a war hero image for his future political life. Additionally, it clearly explains how he gave aid and comfort to the enemy during a time of war. He encouraged a culture that told our returning warriors from Vietnam that they were criminals which was wrong.

If there was a challenge to only one action or two by Kerry in Vietnam, then the book could could be dismissed. But this book exposes questions about all of the actions of John Kerry.

John Kerry believes that his actions in Vietnam should be considered for him to be President. Therefore, people should evaluate his performance from both sides and decide if he is capabable of being the Commander in Chief.

Great Listen!

I have been an Audible listener for years and this book is well written, thoughtful anf insightful. I enjoyed listening to the entire thing. For people who want to know how Bush has run our country, listen to this book. Tommy Franks tells the entire story of how we got into Iraq. God help this country!
