Publisher's summary

Everything, well, almost everything, you know about American history is wrong because most textbooks and popular history books are written by left-wing academic historians who treat their biases as fact. But fear not; Professor Thomas Woods refutes the popular myths in The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History.

Professor Woods's audiobook reveals facts that you won't be, or never were, taught in school. It tells you about the "Books You're Not Supposed to Read" and takes you on a fast paced, politically incorrect tour of American history that will give you all the information you need to battle and confound left-wing professors, neighbors, and friends.

Recommend for all new readers.

With a couple of hand full of books under my belt, Being “new” reader to some to others not so much. But with the books Ive come across before no other one has screamed why you haven’t read me first. Great narrative, history up the kazoo. Loved it.

Must read for every American

must read for every American since very little of what he shares with direct quotations and data concerning the results of policies is taught or known by the average American.

interesting info

I liked the book but the narrator was monotonous. It would have been nice if there was supplemental material with the audio book, the author recommends other reads but they're difficult to capture while driving.

lesser know facets of American history

This book provides a fascinating counterpoint to the prevailing narrative and interpretation of American history. Lesser known ideas and incidents are presented, as well as many that are not covered or discussed in popular treatments of American history.

The history that nobody told you. . .

If you ever wondered if the default positions in out popular history are actually true, this is the place to start.

Was the New Deal a good deal? What about the robber barons of the 19th century? Did Reagan slash social spending? Why were we in WWI?

If you want to actually do the math, Dr. Tom Woods and this book are for you!

Regardless of your political alignment, some sacred cow has likely been gored.

The reader could add a bit of life, but all in all, a good time.

Starts good ends as a right wing screed

Once you get about 25% into this book it starts to become apparent where Woods is coming from - the far right. His attempts to “reference” most always point to other right wing nut jobs that are regulars on Newsmax and OAN. That is not to say there is some good stuff here, but realize this is an opinion piece. What Woods omits is the context around the events he uses in the book. He avoids putting forth the counter factual to support his argument. To the reader of multiple viewpoints in history, this is a useful side of the argument. Readers are cautioned against taking Woods’ argument alone because it resonates in their favored echo chamber.

Want proof of lies about our past? Go no further.

The author takes the time to walk through our American history and expose the lies currently being taught in schools today. Public, private and historical documents are discussed while looking at controversial moments. Personal and political motivations are exposed from event records and personal accounts.
This book will help you to see history without the political blinders placed on you by our current media and political leaders.

what they don't teach you in school.

overall excellent recap of the past American history that you were never taught.. great detail and research that was repressed or hidden by booze who will tell you what to think instead of encouraging you to think for yourself.
well worth the credit I cannot recommend it enough.
