Critic reviews

"A unique combination of cold-eyed realism and boldly confident fortune-telling....Whether all of the visions in Friedman's crystal ball actually materialize, they certainly make for engrossing entertainment." ( Publishers Weekly)

Not much back up

I know this book would be too long and little read with full explanations of the predictions but the star wars scerario at the end left me more unbelieving then impressed.
It helps to have the book & maps to understand how he ties countrries and their reactions. You may not realize how large Poland is.

Not sure about this one.

Obviously, there is a chance I'll eat my words in the next 50 to 75 years. It's just that, George Freidman is a little out in the cold here. Some of his ideas are incredibly out there. I don't buy it all. We'll see I suppose :)

Insightful

Excellent reading of an excellent book. It is 2015 and some of the predictions about Russia and China have come very very close to those predicted in the book. I look forward to seeing what comes of the predictions about Poland, Japan, Turkey and Mexico!

Remains to be seen...

Highly speculative and without much documentation. Especially the part of war is overly detailed on such vague basis. I find more description of the trends leading to conclusions should be in focus.
Good performance by narrator.

Thought provoking

Loved this one. The well thought out predictions may, or may not, come to fruition. However, thinking about them was an intellectual exercise I enjoyed.

Some of his predictions are already happening ...

Fascinating to read this book as Russia is attacking Ukraine and Poland is emerging as the major player. I also didn't take American Space Force seriously until I've read this book. Definitely an eye opener.

Reading this in 2020's is a must

he clearly saw where things were going and now I'm interested to see how much more he gets right in the 20s and 30s

buy the abridged version

interesting insights i hadnt heard elsewhere. at times it is pretty dry. if you are willing to give the author the benefit of the doubt (which you have to do anyway) just get the abridged version and save some time.
