Extremely informative!

I have read about everything I can get my hands on, concerning Templar History, and this is by far the most entertaining. Professor Madden is an immensely talented communicator! He delivers the thrilling history in the most exciting way!

Great information minus all the kerfuffle.

Great introductory course on the Templar's. From this you can very easily research accurate information.

Good shower overview

Dr. Madden is an expert on the crusades, which is evident in these lectures. He states the historical facts and then does a concluding lecture on myths.

Making the Crusades Understandable for The average person

He brought so much clarity on this topic. I’m especially happy that he brought up the modern lies, twists, and superstition. I read the chronicles of the Crusades from two eye witnesses, but this lecture filled in the gaps.

Good lectures. Not for everyone though.

These lectures are a great insight into Christ's warriors. It takes you through the founding of The Order up to the final battles and the lasting myths/legends that have endured.

Another Reality Check

Like his series on the history behind Medieval myths and legends, in this course Professor Madden goes a long way to deflating much of the “untold” history industry. From the false charges that brought the Templars down to the contorted connection of them with the Freemasons, it’s a joy to hear him do it.

Along the way you get the real story – how the order was originated, organized, and run. The only caveat here is that you need to be very interested in the subject. A fine writer (just listen to the first chapter of his history of Venice), at the podium Professor Madden is less than stellar. While well worth listening to, listening can, at times, get a little trying.

the true history of the Templars

Amazing detail to this true historical account of the Knight Templar's. sticks to what we know happened and doesn't go into conspiracies. Definitely reccomend.

Well explained history

I played it at 1.5 speed or else it was far too slow. I learned a lot about the period of the crusades and the foibles of the religions and rulers of those dark years.

Great survey!

Interesting as usual. This is a good follow up to topics mentioned in "Heaven or Heresy" and The New Concise History of the Crusades. And, I like the back ground info provided regarding recent overrated novels and movies tied to Templar History. I'm not surprised. Worth the listen.
