Publisher's summary

In a riveting daily diary, written in his trademark ebullient style, Salmond takes us into the heart of the YES campaign, revealing what was said and done behind the scenes as the vote reached its nail-biting climax.

He explains how the YES campaign energised the entire Scottish nation and rewrote the rulebook for grassroots political campaigning, not just in the UK but throughout the world.

In a completely new section, he writes exclusively about the final days of the 2015 general election campaign and his dramatic return to the House of Commons as one of 56 new SNP MPs who have made an instant impact on Westminster politics.

Read by Alex Salmond with a contribution by Sir Sean Connery who issues a rallying call for independence.

From the horses mouth

If you could sum up The Dream Shall Never Die in three words, what would they be?

Insightful reassuring hope

What did you like best about this story?

The only other autopsy that has proven more interesting than Frankie Boyle's BBC 33 program. Less harsh realities than from Frankie, but a keen insight into the polished politics of project fear and a reassuring nod to the future in which Scotland will eventually break itself away from the war monger img confused mess that is Westminster.
Good book, pick it up

Have you listened to any of Alex Salmond’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
