"The most important book since Darwin's Origin of Species." (Ashley Montagu)
"Some books are like revelations, they open the spirit to unimaginable possibilities. [this] is one of those magnificent key books that can transform us." (Isabel Allende)
I read this book a long time ago. I loved the book, but I wanted to listen to the author read it.
The audio quality was terrible and made it difficult to listen to in a sustained way. If they cleaned it up, I would listen again. It's sad, because the content is very exciting as is her writing.
I found the information in this book very compelling and the author's reading was fine, but the audio quality made listening a bit of a chore. I found I had to focus my listening, which was fine for me, listening in the quiet of my own home, but which might be a problem if a more "active" kind of listening is planned. Great information, though, and I'm anxious to read more from this author. A wonderful book.
The sound quality was poor so if this was improved the book would be better.
The role of women in society and within the family over the ages is the main focus of the book and it was very interesting to understand how things have changed.
Riane showed her passion about the subject as as always, I love to listen to books narrated by the author so that I can hear their passion in their voice.
The book made me happy and I had a sort of knowing that everything that Riane described was true. It makes so much sense, and the message is powerful.
This book is important and I highly recommend it. Riane has deeply researched this subject and it is comprehensive. It's message could help change how humans treat each other, and it could teach us to love each other as equals. I love the message.
I love the content but the recording was not easy to listen too, even on the loudest setting I missed words, the sound was muffled, this spoiled my over all enjoyment of the experience
I recommend every human to understand the ancient past, the potential of a Partnering society vs. the destructive Dominator society. I hung on every word, which was difficult due to the low quality recording, but I liked the author's reading. It took me nearly half a century to begin to piece together these concepts and what a wonderful gift to have this interesting multi disciplined academic present these fascinating and world saving theories.
