Publisher's summary

1972. The Munich Olympics. Palestinian members of the Black September group murder 11 Israeli athletes. Nine hundred million people watch the crisis unfold on television, witnessing a tragedy that inaugurates the modern age of terror.

Back in Israel, Prime Minister Golda Meir vows to track down those responsible and, in Menachem Begin's words, "run these criminals and murderers off the face of the earth". A secret Mossad unit is mobilized, a list of targets drawn up. Thus begins the Israeli response, a mission that unfolds not over months but over decades. The Mossad has never spoken about this operation. No one has known the real story. Until now.

In this riveting account, Aaron Klein peels back the layers of myth and misinformation about the "shadow war" against Black September and other terrorist groups.

Outstanding!

Very well written and superbly narrated. A great story of the Mossad and their determination at meeting out justice. If you liked the movie "Munich", you'll love this audio book. Striking Back goes into far more detail than the movie could. You won't be sorry!

Couldn't Stop Listening!

Where does Striking Back rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book was certainly one of the most thrilling stories from start to finish, there was never a dull moment.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Steve Spielberg has already made the movie titled, "Munich" which is also a thriller.

Any additional comments?

I have come to admire the unbending resolve of the Israeli government to stand up to and try to defeat terrorism.

Well done appeared to be fairly reported

Well documented and doggedly researched by the author. Tells of the colossal missteps of the organizers of the Munich Olympics and the Israelis overconfidence. The author then goes on to describe the results of those missteps as the government and military of Israel seek revenge and retribution from those responsible. The work and research of the part of author is on full display to be appreciated for what it is. The performance of Mr. Rudniki is top notch. I learned a great deal from this book and would highly recommend it. I am neither Jew nor Arab and take no sides I simply appreciated the effort by Mr. Klein.

Incredibile research by the author. This is the pinnacle of how historical pieces should be researched! This will stand as the key book that is the historical document on this subject for generations. Outstanding narration!

inaccurate account and racist

I would recommand reading one day in September instead of this book. Looking at all Arabs as terrorist didn't help too.
