In 1991, the United States was the only global superpower. It seemed that the 21st century, like the 20th, would belong to America. Then came the stock market bubble, the costly foreign unilateralism of the younger Bush presidency, and the financial catastrophe of 2008. Meanwhile, China was rising and the Middle East was awakening politically. Today it is clear that America is vulnerable - to domestic and international decline, and unregulated greed.
Speaking from decades of experience, Brzezinski considers the implications of the changing distribution of global power, ponders why America’s global appeal is waning, speculates on the likely geopolitical consequences if America declines by 2025 (will China assume America’s central role in world affairs?), and describes a vision of a resurgent America: responsive to challenges, strategically deliberate, and historically enlightened in its global engagement with the new East.

Solid survey of the bit picture issues surrounding the current geopolitical landscape. Especially interesting was ZB's view on the how the chess pieces of India, Pakistan, China and Russia might move. Great narration.
This is an exercise in consequential thinking on a political and historical scale. Written by a man who's intellect has made the leap from the 20th to the 21st century with ease. Some of our leaders revel in the past while Dr. Brezezinski analyzes where America as a Superpower has been and considers the choices and outcomes ahead. The process flows with facts that help support the conjecture of the visions ... The narration is good and moves along at a nice pace.
It has some interesting notions and concepts regarding possible future hostilities between nations and resources.
There is only one character- its a narrative of Zbigniew himself.
No. it would be ripe with propoganda.
I didnt gain any real useful information from this book. It did have some interesting commentary on historical tension and where america is likely to find itself in the future if it does not focus its attention at strategically positioning itself for continued dominance or the possibility of subservience to a growing Chinese economy.
I love books!
This is a very interesting listetn if you like these kinds of books. Mr. Brzezinski has a good understanding of the macro level world events that affect our future.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, and was pleasantly surprised. The writing clips along at a good pace, and covers relevant issues, factors, countries and relative interests/context in an impressively comprehensive manner . Style is articulate and narration well done. Book cuts to the chase so it doesn't drag out. Lovely work. Good read for anyone seeking to understand the US's future options in the global context, or just to gain a deeper understanding of geopolitical strategic interests.
Very US centered. Facts are presented unvarnished but also unsourced. Argues that the world is better off with the US in leadership. I am not convinced. If the US can act as prescribed in this book, maybe, but we often do not act in our own best interest much less that of the world's.
I am a relatively recent graduate of the United States Army War College; and this book truly should be added to the curriculum for that course. I felt like I was reading and listening to a detailed synopsis of the two-year course that focuses on National Strategy formulation and, in many ways, was a course in political science. This book offers a rare glimpse behind the curtain of foreign policy, from both an historical perspective and a first-person point of view. It's a must read for any member of the U.S. Government- particularly any member of the U.S. Congress, since they appear to be in most need of the lessons and insight Mr. Brzezinski offers throughout the book. I very highly recommend it to anyone interested in truly contributing to the effort to make the world a better and safer place for everyone -- particularly for future generations.
I enjoy political topics and especially enjoyed the geo-political insights with a strong understanding of economics.
The scope of the topic was incredible.
Zbigniew Brzezinski is a bright man so bright he was chosen to work for the Club of Rome (UN founders), The Bilderberg Group (the media up to few years said never existed) and for The Trilaterial Commission so he's basically a political hit-man like his fellow Henry Kissenger working for the same old Rochefellers and Rothschilds.
What got my attention the most in this book is that the New World Order is cooking many more wars and Brzezinski stated 'The choice for the 21st century is not hegemony or peace, but it’s a choice between chaos and cooperation'.
The book is a good read to help you see the big picture and prepare yourself for what is underway. I would suggest watching in youtube End Game: Blue Print for Global Enslavement as it makes this book much more clear to the eyes.
Zbigniew Brzezinski's Clarity and understanding of our need to set new directions for America to recreate our world that will allow success for our childrens futures.
Good job, His way of speech empowers the hearer(s) with great understanding.
Great works, learn the strategic vision from the best.
