Preachers of Hate: Islam and the War on America

Like no book before it, Preachers of Hate uncovers an ancient hatred that threatens the life and livelihood of every American. The "new" anti-Semitism targets not only Jews, but Americans specifically and the West in general. It targets our values, our lifestyle, and our freedoms. It is the single most important issue we face when trying to make sense of the Arab world.

Publisher's Summary

Like no book before it, Preachers of Hate uncovers an ancient hatred that threatens the life and livelihood of every American. The "new" anti-Semitism targets not only Jews, but Americans specifically and the West in general. It targets our values, our lifestyle, and our freedoms. It is the single most important issue we face when trying to make sense of the Arab world.

In Preachers of Hate, best selling author Kenneth R. Timmerman (who is not Jewish) contends that, besides Islam itself, the core unifying force in the Muslim world is a virulent strain of anti-Semitism that postulates the existence of a Jewish conspiracy to take over the world. It is seen as no less than Muslims' historical destiny to prevent such a takeover, and to do so by any means possible. To misunderstand the ferocity of that belief is to vastly underestimate the resolve of many Muslims to repel America, Israel, and all things Western.

Timmerman explores the roots of this hatred, examining its history, the religious sources upon which it draws, and how it is being transmitted to young people growing up in Arab societies by their leaders, their teachers, and their mosques. He documents how U.S. and European Union money has been used to finance hatred in Palestinian schools. He exposes the double-talk of Arab leaders and their supporters in the West. As it so often was throughout history, this new strain of Jew hatred is really about much more than Jews. They get attacked first, when the enemies of America can't attack Americans. However, what begins with the Jews never ends with the Jews.

As America reasserts her role in the Middle East and attempts to bring peace between Jews and Arabs, Preachers of Hate is an essential book that reframes a very complicated issue as a matter of life and death.

    "Overkill but satisfing"

This book really hammered home the points it made regarding fundamental (and radical) Islam. While new information was constantly introduced throughout the book, I had the feeling that much was being continuously repeated at the same time. I found the information about antisemitism in Norway fascinating. I was married to a wonderful Norwegian woman for over 25 years and visited my inlaws numerous times over the years. They hinted at certain intolerances that existed in their country -- mostly against the Lapps in the North. They disapproved and displayed a character that I greatly admired. The role of the Norwegian resistance in WW2 was really heroic and I therefore assumed that Norway would have been an ally of Israel. My shock at learning otherwise has been profound.

"This is a book that should never have been written"

If what Kenneth states in this book is not true, then such a book should not have even gotten through the scrutiny of the editorial process.
However, if the facts revealed in this book are indeed facts and not opinion or a biased point of view, then we the general public are being lied to by just about everyone. Or at least intentionally kept in the dark. Whole governments are turning a blind eye to the concerted attack on the 'western' way of life. The media skews so much of the news involving Islam, rather than reporting what is actually happening. The religious leaders wear 'masks', and are false in their public dealings. The endless opinions regarding the flare-ups in the middle east that are based only one side of the argument.
We are apparently facing a real threat to our way of life here, and no-one seems to be talking honestly about it.

This is not a book for the faint of heart. It will shatter your illusions about what you think you know, and it does it comprehensively. It's really hard going at times, and I could feel the foundations of my worldview and understanding about global politics shifting. A painful process as you realize how ignorant you were just a few hours ago. A constant barrage of facts and information regarding hateful people, hateful statements, hateful activities and evil beliefs. Yes its hard to listen to, and yet I was drawn back again and again to hear about the abhorrent practices going on right under our noses that no-body seems to think are worth our attention.

I would recommend everyone should read/listen to this book, and use it as a stepping stone to further study. Whether you agree with the right or the left, are a green, a gun owner or a minority, you need to study this issue with an open mind, because if even half the claims of this book are true, then this clash between Islam and the West will be what defines this century. Is peace possible? Well that depends on your definition of peace...

    "Investment of time"

Invest your time in this read. This is the book that answers the questions those of us that are on the sidelines have so long wondered. It is an investment but it so well worth the time. The narrators voice never wears on you so you can concentrate on the very informative content.

"Every American Should Read This Book."

When we hear about anti-semitic acts, we are all a bit upset but we think of them as isolated incidents & strictly against the Jews. They are not! These acts & 'protected speech' are an assault on every single one of us. This book illustrates that America and our western society are directly effected. The information in this book is really SHOCK and AWE. This is a must listen.

    "Non-compelling and tasteless"

The author claims that muslims believe there exists a conspiracy by Jews to rule the world. This is nothing more than an Islamic version of the Protocals of Zion. This belongs in the fiction section and it does more to promote hate and misunderstanding than it does to bridge gaps.

    "Um, Preaches Hate"

    Self-satisfied, self-righeous, and wrong.

This book consistently resorts to exactly the narrow-minded mentality it is supposedly written to condemn.

A genuinely bad book written for people easily outraged but slow to think.

    "Waste of Money"

Mr. Timmerman is a cheerleader for the State of Israel. The way his mind works reminds of a cobblestone street in Vienna's historic 1st District (my home town) - one way and very narrow. This book is bad.
