In Enlightenment, Revolution, and Renewal, Professor Timothy B. Shutt of Kenyon College is joined by Professors Fred E. Baumann(Kenyon College), Joel F. Richeimer (Kenyon College), and Donald M.G. Sutherland (University of Maryland) for a remarkable distillation of human development in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Timothy Shutt is an excellent presenter but the co-readers in this work are terrible and make it, amost, unbearable. I hate to see (or hear) an outstanding lecturer have his name attached to a work virtually worthless simply by his choice of co-lecturers. I expected so much more.
I bought the whole series of lectures called, “odyssey of the west.” Even though Professor Timothy Shut is indeed a very learned man, I am glad he did not contribute as much to this set of lectures.
The modern scholar series ought to re-record the whole series WITHOUT Timothy shutt as the host. That will make it a stellar contribution to our intellectual discovery.
"Enjoyable and informative"
A very good overview and introduction to the works themselves. Some of the professors are difficult to follow and require multiple listenings.
