Publisher's summary

Listeners around the world have thrilled to Killing Lincoln, Killing Kennedy, and Killing Jesus - riveting works of nonfiction that journey into the heart of the most famous murders in history. Now, from Bill O'Reilly, anchor of The O'Reilly Factor, comes the most epic book of all in this multimillion-selling series: Killing Patton.

General George S. Patton, Jr., died under mysterious circumstances in the months following the end of World War II. For almost 70 years, there has been suspicion that his death was not an accident - and may very well have been an act of assassination. Killing Patton will take listeners inside the final year of the war and recount the events surrounding Patton's tragic demise, naming names of the many powerful individuals who wanted him silenced.

Good level of detail.

I would recommend this book. The balance of detail of the history is good. Not so deep as to lose you but deep enough to gain a better understanding of the events. The language and statements in the Patton quotes are realistic but would make me think twice about the younger members of my family.

A Victim of his own Genius

Would you consider the audio edition of Killing Patton to be better than the print version?

I completely enjoyed the audio edition of Killing Patton.

What did you like best about this story?

What I enjoyed the most was also what disturbed me the most and that was learning about how corrupt and self serving certain WWII leaders were, which led to ostracizing Patton and ultimately destroying America's greatest general.

What does Bill O'Reilly bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Politics aside, Bill O'Reilly is a professional and knows how to tell a story and he clearly demonstrates this with Killing Patton.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I managed to listen to the entire book except for the final hour during a recent road trip and was engaged in the story the entire time.

Excellent, Succinct "Final Days" WWII Synopsis

I'm a fan of the "killing" series by O'Reilly. It reads at a good pace, is packed with information, but doesn't get too in the weeds. My major complaint about the audio version of this publication is that you could tell O'Reilly was rushed. There were two times he had a 'frog in his throat' but didn't stop to re-record. And on more than a handful of occasions he mispronounced a word but kept on rolling. If you're going to take the time to do it, do it right.

Intriguing

Bill does a great job in laying out the facts and background information. Really enjoyed learning more about WWII and role America played in winning the war. I was struck how politics continue to keep us from winning a complete victory, without causing future conflict.
