Ex-military that can relate.

Great book. I share the same frustrations as the author with regards to higher level officers who are more concerned about politics and their performance ratings than killing the enemy.

Informative

I selected this title at the suggestion of a friend. The author is very concise about his description of the events which took place on December 2001, in the Tora Bora mountain range. The story is very compelling in a ra-ra sort-of fashion. The author's position as a former Delta operator made me question some of the accuracy presented in the details. A fascinating story, told by someone who was there.

Great to learn history from those that were there.

Great to learn history from those that were there. we need these books so history is not written by academics who tend to want to put their own spin on it.

Kill Bin Laden

Slow at start and cirquitutious at times but a very infomative report of the Tora Bora situation and difficulties faced when trying to kill Usama Bin Laden by precision bombs.

Not much action...yawn...

Overall this book was a three. I was disappointed.
It had some good spots but they were minimal and way too short for the length of the book.

Disappointed

Obviously, the men and women discussed and the author are patriots and heroes. That said, I was really disappointed. I loves all the Kolt Non-fiction series, but this was brutal. Narrator was fragmented and boring. There were pivotal battles that changed the world, yet they were described like a trip to the grocery store. everything could have been better, including the anticlimactic finish. I do not believe MAJ Greer would have the audio adaptation present the way it did. First time I've asked for a refund in 30 books.

Kind of boring. Couldn't finish it.

Kind of boring. Couldn't finish it. Narrator was ok, but the book itself was just boring.

You can always leave from Delta

I understand why they don't talk about things, but you can always learn from Delta. Great book great read and we'll narrated.

I do love how it puts the blame of how parts of the operation failed squarely where it belongs!

Tactical

Written by a recent Delta retiree, the book was constructed to document efforts to find and kill Usama bin Laden. It was written prior to the actual killing of UBL by Navy SEALs and from the author's perspective, that of a tactical operator. Sometimes he besmirched decisions made above his pay grade--typical for someone who's not been to high levels of command. Sometimes, the action gets very, very tactical...to me that's boring. He obviously loved his job and those with whom he fought for his country; thus the book.
