No speeches by Martin Luther King Jr, Mohandas Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Malcom X, Ronald Reagan or Elie Wiesel. Only speeches from other American polticians arguing such things as the policy of the Gold Standard.
Only by Bob Blaisdell
Informed me about the debate re: the gold standard.
I probably should request a refund.
Obviously, it's quality content. But, it would be nice to know the "who/when/where" of each of the speeches. Many are obvious, but there are more than a few that I couldn't pick out.
Additionally, the chaptering doesn't seem to coincide with the speeches. One chapter contains more than one speech.
Metadata and/or a better description on the Audio Book detail page would be very helpful.
The Sound quality was inconsistent. Some speeches were very clear while others were indistinct. Also, it would have been nice to at least have an intro as to who was speaking next and the year the speech was given.
Perhaps I should have realised from the fact that these are the original recordings of speeches, but the recording quality of some of these is awful and very distracting. The speeches are presented with no introduction, so unless you recognise the speech by the voice of the speaker, or the content, you will have no way of knowing who is speaking. Iexpected an introduction to each one or at least a title, but navigating this is impossible.
"I expect more..."
I expect some brief introduction on who is going to speak and the historical circunstances of the speech..there is nothing but the speeches.. very frustrating..
"Could have been so much better"
I'm not sure how the author can put his name to it! It's just. Collection of original recording speeches, mostly American. There was no introduction to any speeches, they just rolled from one into another. If there had a brief introduction with some background and context it would have made a lot more sense. Only one Churchill speech, and it wasn't the fight them on the beaches! There must be better speeches books out there, don't bother with this one.
