Just the Essentials

This is a very sparse history of Ferrari. There is not much story telling and not much detail. You might guess that from the length. It is a very fast listen.

A great gift!

Biography and history of Enzo Ferrari and development of the business, basics of auto races and race car evolution were fascinating to me, but the extensive and detailed descriptions of automotive development were waaaay above my head.
But. I shared this book with a "car guy", and, after he read mine, he went and got his own copy.
Enzo's life, visionary gifts and abilities are worth reading whether or not you can comprehend all of the technical stuff. Either way, it certainly sounds well researched and well presented.
I read it in audio format narrated by Jack Chekijian who is well known for his ability to make even the driest lecture interesting.

Somehow they made the story of Enzo Ferrari boring

The speaker was very monotone and in the early parts of the book he skipped around alot (not to mention the recording also skipped in the beginning). All in all it was that boring teacher who basically read stats on the car.

If you need a sleep aid this is it.

Don’t buy unless you just like to listen to an encyclopedia.

It had no stories about why Ferrari was great. It was just model 250 had x HP as top speed. Ferrari won F1 in 19XX. Terrible.
