Amazing !
It's hard to imagine that the story of a sea voyage could hold much interest but the venture itself, the recounting of it by the author and the presentation by the storyteller make it hard to put down. People in real life really did this? Amazing!

Captivating and Breathtaking. Quite possibly the greatest survival story ever. The heartache and triumph actually moved me to tears at points. And the narrator was superb. You will not regret listening to this book.

This was a wonderful book. The combination of narration and first hand accounts was perfectly done. I was on the edge of my seat through out. I enjoyed the narrator immensely.

Incredible and Epic
This tale is so incredible that’s it’s difficult to believe that it occurred. In the last few miles of Shackleton’s struggle for safety and security, I vicariously cringed at their perils and rejoiced in their victories. It amazes me the hardships that people can endure.
Additionally, the narrator did a great job.

Perseverance beyond belief!
I suspect from now on when I think of the word "perseverance" I shall think of Ernest Shackleton and the crew of the Endurance. Such an amazing story and such excellent examples of teamwork, focus and keeping one's eye on the prize - even if the prize is only to survive. A great story and very well read.

Exceptional tale of human will and endurance
I knew virtually nothing of Shakelton nor this journey, but was absolutely riveted from start to finish. I will carry this tale of human endurance and the will to survive for longer than their journey.
Simon Prebble's performance was exceptional, capturing the author's words and the men of the Endurance's ordeal.

Unbelievable story!
I had no knowledge of the Shakelton expedition and had no expectations. I was blown away by this book. It's an incredible testimony to these men's will to survive, their endurance, and Shakelton's leadership. The narrator is excellent, and brought it alive. Well worth the read/listen.
