The program covers a tremendous amount of history in just under three hours. While it did not make me an expert, it gave me a feel for the topic and some ideas for further study.
The quotes and character voices, while sometimes a bit comical, helped me keep the characters straight while I was listening. My attention did not drift much.
The dynamic reading maintained my attention; I listened to this while walking to work in the mornings over a period of three days. The emphasis the narrator used helped me stay focused.
If I had three hours to dedicate to it, it would be ideal for a single sitting.

Performance involved reading block quotes with various accents. The accents were somewhat comical, and the passionate reading made everything sound like a made for TV teen movie.
